In this VII edition, the stage lights up with a program that promises to dazzle both aficionados and new followers alike. The majestic venues of the capital, such as the iconic National Auditorium and the historic Ateneo, will serve as the backdrop for performances that connect generations and cultures through the strings of the guitar.

The heart of the festival continues to beat strong with our annual competition, designed to discover and nurture the future stars of the guitar. This competition not only provides young guitarists a platform to catapult their careers but also instills in them, and their audience, a lasting passion for this versatile instrument.

Concerts

The Madrid International Guitar Festival has established itself as an essential meeting point for classical music lovers, renowned for its ability to bring together leading international guitarists alongside artistic projects of great musical sensitivity.

In its eighth edition, the festival once again surprises with a top-tier program featuring such prominent figures as David Russell, one of the most influential guitarists on the international scene; Pablo Sáinz Villegas, recognized for his brilliant career on the world’s leading stages; and Rafael Aguirre, one of the most outstanding Spanish performers of his generation.

The festival will also host the Anaura Duo, formed by Laura Verdugo del Rey and Anabel Montesinos, two highly acclaimed guitarists who combine their talents to offer a unique artistic proposal within the guitar repertoire.

Competition

The Madrid International Guitar Festival Competition has established itself as a leading platform for discovering and promoting the future stars of the classical guitar world. This competitive event attracts young talents from around the globe, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skill and creativity before a jury composed of some of the most respected masters in the genre. In its last edition, the virtuoso Sohta Nakabayashi captivated the jury and the audience, emerging victorious thanks to a brilliant performance and impeccable technique.
