On June 15 at 12:30 PM in Colegio Mayor Universitario Sta. de Europa Universidad Complutense de Madrid, she will offer a free-admission lecture in tribute to Antón García Abril, as part of the VII Madrid International Guitar Festival, where she will share her humanistic perspective on one of the most important Spanish composers of the contemporary era.
Esther Sestelo Longueira holds a PhD in Musicology from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award for her thesis on composer Antón García Abril, with whom she maintained a close personal relationship. Her extensive academic background includes a degree in History and Music Sciences, advanced piano studies, and several doctoral programs in Spanish universities. She is a Conservatory Professor, university lecturer, and a member of prestigious academic institutions.
In addition to her research and teaching, she developed the educational methodology Humanism and Music, a transformative and interdisciplinary approach she has taught at national and international universities across Europe and Latin America. She is the author of ten books, including academic works, novels, and children’s literature. Also, she has participated in international conferences as a speaker, jury member, and scientific committee member.
